Joy in the Journey!

Today in Relief Society we had a lesson that I just needed to hear. I've been struggling lately with things that have been going on at work with some co-workers. I'm been extremely discouraged and just down on life and my current situation. I heard this lesson and it turned me completely around. The lesson was on "Joy in the Journey". At church I take notes of things that impress me and here were some of the things I took away from the lesson. There were some quotes that I really liked, "I have two choices, I can choose to be happy or I can choose to be sad. I choose to be happy!" by Morjorie Hinckley, and "The trick is to enjoy life. Don't wish away your days, waiting for better ones ahead." also by Marjorie Hinckley. I learned that I need to make the most of today and that our attitude towards life is how my children's will be towards their. Another quote was, "Never assume that someone knows how we feel." I need to show and tell them more, and most of all, I need to be grateful. I need to realize what's most important and live in the moment. It's all a part of the plan and part of the journey. I'm so grateful I had this lesson. I'm so much more equipped to face the day with those words of advice in my mind. To all my friends and family who have taken the time to read this, thank you so much for all your support and love. You have no idea how much I love and appreciate it especially at this point in my life when I need it so much.

From one of my most favorite Christmas CD's Forgetten Carols, "I cry the day, that I take the tree down. I want the season, to last all year round."

I wanted to capture the last few moments of my Christmas season before I took the tree down this past Sunday. Jaden and I had fun blasting the Christmas music around the house and having our last cup of hot chocolate while we took the tree down. It was sad but we needed to do it before we hit Valentines Day!

I thought I would share this great idea. A couple of years ago I came across this website that gives all sorts of organizational ideas or better ways to do things. This was one idea that I loved and have been doing it for a few years and thought I might share it with anyone who cares. My pantry was always a sore spot and when I was given the idea of organizing your pantry into buckets according to category, it made things so much easier to find, put away and look for shopping items. I did mine by what kind of food, so all Mexican food, like taco shells, seasonings, chips, salsas re fried beans, you get the idea where all in one and then things like breakfast foods in the other. Just thought I would share!

A shinny new bike!

For Christmas Santa brought Jaden this fun bike! We went over to Grandma's house to try it out. Jaden and Joel had a lot of fun trying out his new bike to see how it worked. It was a little harder then we thought for a two year old to get the concept that he has to work to make it move.

Guess who lives accross the street?

You will never guess who I have as neighbors! The Griswold's had a wonderful light display right across the street. I'm just so glad I don't live right next door where those lights would keep me up all night. :)

Tell me the stories of Jesus...I love to hear.

This is one of my most favorite pictures of Jaden at Christmas. Cherise, my sister in law was telling the story of Jesus Birth and Jaden was listening so intently as to what she was saying. She was using one of my mom's nativity figurines to tell the story. This year was his first year to actually hear and learn about Jesus birth.
