Day 22

I finally finished my book I've been reading when I go down to my testing. i really took the time to soak it all in and learn from this book. It was really a good one to read. I have read it before, but now that Jaden's a little older and I have two more on the way I thought it would be good to get a refresher course on how to parent with a purpose. Anyone that knows me well knows I plan out my parenting and this is one of my best inspirations. I encourage every parent to read it to better their parenting skills. It truly is a step by step plan as to how to parent a phenomenal family. Lots of good tools, ideas and advice.
From 2010-12-30

Jaden spent the night at his best friends house. Jaden has known Keegan since he was one and they are just the best of buds. He had a blast and played all day long.
From Pictures

I spent the afternoon with my sister Kathryn who came to visit me. We started planning some of the things we want to do this year with St. Patricks day, The first day of Spring and general Conference. It was really fun to see her and brain storm over fun idea of things to do.

Day 21

There's going to be a winter storm! All the nurses have been talking about this winter storm we are going to have. it's suppose to snow right here in Tucson, AZ. I can only see a little bit outside my window in my room so I'm trying to catch a glimpse of this winter storm. Yesterday's testing was a little crazy. They couldn't find the babies, or they would move and it took forever for them to get a good reading on the tests. I also went over and got an ultrasound that measured the size of the babies and checked for other things. The twins are now weighing in at 3 pounds each.
From 2010-12-29

It's pretty amazing that they are the same size because It's rare that they grow at the same pace. Usually one is smaller then the other. Everything looks good though and the doctors are all very pleased and surprised at how well we are all doing. It's such a blessing so thank you all for your prayers. They're working.
From 2010-12-29

I was so late getting back to my room that I didn't go to water therapy, instead I just spent the time relaxing in my room and working on my New Years Party Decorations. They are turning out pretty cute, I do have to say.
From 2010-12-30
From 2010-12-30
From 2010-12-30

All my nurses comment on how homie my room feels when they come in. I think it's the garland and my lamp I brought. I can't stand florescent lights so I brought my own so it's not such a harsh light. I'm weird like that. Joel worked the whole day but I did get to skype him last night. He did find out some great news. Joel was scheduled to start working nights Jan. 2, but his preceptor he's working with right now, pulled some strings and he will be able to stay on days until after the babies are born. I'm so relieved because that really was going make it so we would never see each other and I didn't know what we were going to do with Jaden. Now we can get through all this and then he'll start which will actually be ok because that way if he's not working a night, he still has to keep his same sleeping schedule, he'll be able to help out with the twins at night and I can get some rest. We'll have to see how it all works out. Jaden I'm sure is having a blast. He's staying the night at one of his best friends house. Jaden has known his friend, Keegan since he was one year old when we went to Noah's Ark Day Care. He says they are "Best Buds". It's so cute that he has such a good friend. Keegan's mom is also having a baby too and Jaden likes to point out to Keegan that he's getting two brothers and that Keegan is only getting one. We both find it funny.

Day 20

Yesterday was such a fun day. Joel and Jaden spent the night here at the hospital with me and we got to spend lots of time together. They went to my testing with me, we ordered pizza and watched national treasure together while we relaxed.
From 2010-12-28

In the afternoon after napping we went on a much needed walk together outside. I hadn't been outside since last Sunday so it was nice to get some fresh air and see the sun.
From 2010-12-28

We had a lot of fun just hanging out together and having fun treats in my room like chocolate and fun popcorn. When it was time for me to go to my second testing for the day Joel and Jaden headed out too. Down in triage though they were extremely busy so they sent me back to my room to wait there instead of in the hall. It was funny too because Jaden told Joel that he forgot to give me my kisses and they had tried to find me in triage but I wasn't there so they came all the way back to my room to give me kisses. I thought it was so nice. Jaden hugged me so tight. It was hard to let him go.

From 2010-12-28

Joel decided he would come back and stay the night again with me after he dropped Jaden off at Graham and Cherise's house. He had to work today and leaves very early in the morning so it's best if he drops him off the night before. It was so nice to see him again and have some one on one time. The past 3 weeks have gone by so fast and I just hope this next 3 are just as easy. Everything is looking good and we are so exited for our little twinnies to arrive.

Day19

Yesterday was just another day. I had a lot of time on my hands because Joel and Jaden used the day to get the house in order. It's been 3 weeks since I came into the hospital and he's just been running around, dropping things off, picking up more and the house has suffered. We even came up with a step by step game plan for Joel so he would stay focused and know what to do. I called Joel 3 hours later to see where he was at with the house and he was still in the first area. He was so overwhelmed and there was so much to put away and clean up that he was going to take all day to do it. I decided to call in reinforcements. I called our compassionate service leader in our ward who has been so good about seeing how we are and asking what we need and I explained the situation to her and she immediately asked when can they come in to help and how often. I immediately felt so relieved. Joel has been running ragged and he's starting to stress me out with all he's been tasked to do. He's doing a great job but is just so overwhelmed. He really doesn't get to just rest. I feel so helpless because I can't do anything for him or Jaden. After I called Joel to let him know help was on the way. I tasked him with only putting things away and getting the house ready for someone to come in and surface clean. I think he too was really relieved. Once they got that all done, laundry done and grocery shopping done, Joel and Jaden came to stay with me for the night.
While I was waiting for them all day I decided to work on my New Years Eve Party decor for my room.

When Joel and Jaden got here I was so exited to finally see them. They arrived around 8:00 pm and we just used that time to relax and be together. Jaden likes to surprise me when he comes. We were all so tired from a long day that we just got ready for bed and crashed. It was so fun! I love when they come.

Day 18

Yesterday was just a nice relaxing day. I slept in a little, meaning I didn't rush to get all ready for the day, I ate breakfast and it was off to testing. Everything is still looking really good and tests seem to be going a lot faster then they were in the beginning. Because it was Sunday I didn't go to water therapy I just hung out in my room working on projects. I decided to make a separate MyPulisher book especially for my hospital stay. I'm just using the same stuff from my blog in the storyteller style book and adding all the same pictures and then some. I think one day it will be nice to look back at this time and remember it. Especially for Preston and Landon. I called the book, "Mommy's Day by Day Hospital Stay December 8, 2010 thru" and that date is still to be determined.I'm exited about it. it seems to be looking pretty good so far.
From 2010-12-26

I spent most of my day working on that and watching some fun movies on TV. I watched "The Sound of Music", "27 Dresses", and "Maid of Honor". I just sat back and relaxed while I had some hot chocolate, popcorn from one of those tin's and of course some chocolates! It was a nice day.
It was funny though because the babies were moving a lot. While the nurse was doing the heart monitoring on me in my room with this little doppler, One of the babies was trying to kick it away. It was so funny. I'm at the stage where it looks like an elbow or sharper object is moving around in there. I was tempted to grab the video camera and record it because it was so funny. The nurse got a kick out of it.
In the evening Joel and Jaden Skyped me to say goodnight. They will be coming today at some point but need to get some rest and clean up the house. From what I hear, it's a bomb! Hopefully Joel will be able to get it done soon so they can come visit me soon. He's so wonderful!

Day 17 Christmas Day!!

Today was so much fun! I woke up to a beautiful Christmas Morning. Jaden was so sleepy that we had to wake him up before they came to get me for my testing. Once we mentioned that Santa had been here he jumped up and ran to his stocking. He was so exited. He had gotten his long time waited for Pillow Pet.

It was so fun to see Jaden so exited about his stocking and all the fun presents surrounding it.

From 2010-12-25

Jaden got a a remote control car, some school books, an ice cream maker, a book from the movie, Cars and a semi-truck also from the movie Car's. Jaden has been eyeing it for months now and was so exited when he opened it he shouted, "This is exactly what I wanted" it made us feel so good and we even got it on camera. he's so cute.
From 2010-12-25

He also got a key board. It was funny because we were video recording him and he said, "that's the keyboard you got me at the Garage Sale!!!" thanks for pointing that out. I was hoping he forgot about that. He has such a great memory.
From 2010-12-25

Jaden gave Joel and I slippers which we absolutely love.

right after we finished opening presents they came to get me for my testing. We all trecked down to triage and got that done and then met up with Tim, The Corner's and Paytynne and Trei for breakfast.
From 2010-12-25

We had a good time talking and hanging out in the lobby. I even forgot to take my camera for some pictures. Oops!
When we got back to the room Joel was so tired he tuckered out for a few hours.
From 2010-12-25

Jaden and I got ready for the day and hung out on my bed watching movies and having some fun treats.
From 2010-12-25

We had a lot of fun just being together as a family and playing with Jaden's new toys.
From 2010-12-25

In the evening we got on to OOVOO and talked to the Glausers. We were able to talk to My parents, graham and Cherise, Steven and Melissa, Kathryn and Ryne and us all at the same time. it was awesome! In our conversation we found out that both Liz and Melissa are pregnant!! They are about two weeks apart and are due in July!! We are so exited. Our twinnies will have cousin's their same age! So much fun! After we got off, the dreaded part of the day came. Joel had work today so he needed to get home so he can get Jaden off to Mary's for today. I just became so sad. I didn't want them to go. I just kept thinking of being alone again on Christmas and was having a hard time parting. On top of it all they brought me the wrong meal and what they brought looked disgusting. It was only 7pm and Joel could tell I wasn't going to have a good night. In the end, Joel took Jaden to Mary's and packed his stuff up again and came to stay with me last night. I was so exited and happy that he would do that for me. He has been just so supportive of me and I know he's running ragged with all the things he's juggling. He is just such a wonderful man and I love him so much. He's done everything to make me feel comfortable and loved. He's so willing to go get me things that I need or that will make my stay more comfortable and nice.
When he got here we made a bean dip and had cheese dip with chips. It was so fun. We cuddled together for awhile while we listened to Christmas music and then went to bed. it was the perfect ending to a great day!! I loved it!! Thank you Joel for being there for me and sacrificing so much for me and our family. I love you!!

Day 16

Today started out pretty slow. I didn't know if Joel and Jaden were going to be able to come and stay for Christmas due to his allergic reaction. They slept in till around noon because of the long night at the E.R. After talking to Joel for awhile it seemed like he was fine to come. I was so relieved and exited. they were just getting started though with their day at noon so I had no idea when they would come. I went to my testing and water therapy like normal but it was just a waiting game from there.
From 2010-12-24

Around 3:00 pm Joel called me and was still trying to get things rounded up and ready. He's been running ragged since I got in here juggling Jaden around, packing, laundry for him and I, Chloe our dog who keeps on peeing on our tile and smelling up the house even though we have someone going over there multiple times a day to let her out and so much more. He was going to try to come and visit for awhile before going to his families get together at 5:00. I knew there was no way he could make it over here and then be back there by 5:00 so I told him to just finish getting things ready and then to just come right after the party.
Santa and Mrs. Claus dropped by my room. I told Jaden that I talked to Santa when he was here about coming here instead of our house. he thought that was so cool and his eyes totally lit up.
From 2010-12-24

Also during the day my home teachers showed up with some yummy treats and to check in on me to see how I was doing. I thought it was so nice for them to do that.
From 2010-12-24

I also had my visiting teacher stop by too, Bridgett. She has been so good about seeing how I'm doing and offering herself up if we need anything. It's been wonderful. She also brought me a fun basket of goodies. We are in such a great ward. We have felt so welcome and love that they really care about us.

While I waited I watched fun movies like "the Christmas Story"

While Joel and Jaden were at the party Jaden was so eager to come see me that he was bugging Joel and making a scene that Joel decided to go ahead and head over a little early. On the way over Joel picked up some fun dinner for us at the Macaroni grill.
From 2010-12-24

I was so exited to see Jaden and it was so cute what he told Joel in the car on the way over. He said, "Mommy is going to be so exited that we are coming early", he even told Joel not to call me and let me know they were on their way so that they could surprise me when they got here.

It was just such a fun evening. Jaden really has been such a good boy this year. He only asked for two things. A bumble bee pillow pet and a green semi-truck from the Cars movie. needless to say, he'll be getting both this year.

Day 15

Yesterday was kind of a crazy day. Joel had to work and so Jaden was being watched by my sister, Kathryn. Jaden's tummy wasn't feeling very good when Joel dropped him off but just thought that maybe he was hungry. oh, no it was way worse. Jaden had diaria all day and in the afternoon developed big welt size hives. He even started throwing up. Poor Kathryn. Kathryn called me to let me know what was happening and I called Joel right away. We didn't know what to do. Joel was luckily able to get off work and he went and picked Jaden up. He ended up in the emergency room last night and didn't get home till 5:30 am this morning. They gave him a steroid shot, and some medicines to help. they asked if He had been anywhere new or had eaten any new foods and Joel explained how he's been to multiple people homes and eaten all new foods. So they really couldn't pin point what it could be. He basically just had an allergic reaction to something. I couldn't sleep all night and was worried about my baby. I also didn't know if Jaden would be well enough for them to come see me in the hospital for Christmas Eve or Christmas. the good part to my day was that Tim, my father in law came to visit me. He even brought me a yummy ice cream and berries treat from Costco. My brother Graham and his family also came to visit me as well. Cherise, Graham's wife made me some yummy cinnamon rolls too. It was really fun to talk to them and see their cute boys. Our visit got cut short though when my transportation came to get me for my test though. the part that stinks about it is that they were really busy in triage when I got there so I ended up waiting about 45 min. to get in anyway. I'm just so thankful that they took the time out of their busy schedules and especially during this time of year, to come and visit with me. I'm really starting to get lonely.

Wednesday, December 22, 2010

Day 14

This evening I was talking to my sister Liz and she asked me what exactly do they do during my non-stress tests, so just to tell you i basically go to where all the incoming pregnant women go when they think they are in labor. It's kind of a weed them out area. They check to see who's really in labor and how the babies are doing. The track everything from heart beats, blood pressure, contractions, you name it they track it. If someone is ready for delivery they get admitted and go into labor and delivery, if not they send them home. Me, they just monitor me like they do the other women.
From 2010-12-16

First they use those belts to attach the heart monitors on to each baby. That's the hard part is finding where they are and then keeping them on. Then they attach a 3rd one which is to monitor contractions. I have to sit there for 30 to 45 minutes for a good read. If the twins get off the machine then we have to go longer. After they have a good strip, one of the doctors looks at it to see if it's sufficient and as long as everything looks good then I'm good to go. I have to go do that twice a day, every day.
My days are starting too feel like the movie, "Groundhog Day" where the main guy wakes up to the same day that keeps playing all over again day after day. it's really the same thing day in and day out. Two weeks now. I have 4 more weeks to go.
Joel and Jaden stayed over last night though. They got here late because they were up in Queen Creek all day helping Joel's mom but I'm so glad they came anyway. I'm starting to get lonely.
From 2010-12-22

We spent the day just being together as a family, going to my tests, resting and watching TV. Joel has been so tired from running around all over town with going to school, work, taking care of Jaden and visiting me. We just wanted to have a mellow day. He took two naps. Jaden was fighting up but also had a really good nap.
From 2010-12-22

I was sad to see them go, but Joel has to work tomorrow. Kathryn is going to be watching Jaden tomorrow for us and then they will be back for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. I can't wait! It will be fun to see Jaden on Christmas morning. Which reminds me I should start charging up all the camera and video camera batteries for the big day.
